This one was a full residential roofing installation - house and detached garage both getting new asphalt shingles from top to bottom. Here's what we were working with: an aging roof that had run its course, and a homeowner who needed the whole thing done right, not just patched up.
We started with a complete tear-off. Old shingles, underlayment, all of it stripped down before anything new went on. That step matters more than most people realize. Skipping a proper tear-off and layering new shingles over old ones hides problems instead of fixing them. We don't do it that way.
Once the decking was exposed and inspected, we laid everything fresh - new underlayment, new dark charcoal asphalt shingles across the full roofline. The garage got the same treatment as the house. Nothing half-done. Both structures now have a clean, uniform look and solid protection overhead.
Asphalt shingle roofing is still the most practical choice for residential homes like this one. It holds up well against the elements, comes in a wide range of styles, and when installed correctly it can last for decades. The key word there is correctly - which is why we take the inspection and prep work just as seriously as the installation itself.
From the ridge line to the eaves, every section was laid with attention to overlap, alignment, and fastening. The dumpster on-site handled all the old material so the homeowner wasn't left dealing with any mess. That's just how we run a job.
