When a home sits right on the water, every detail on the exterior gets noticed. The contrast of dark siding against white trim is sharp from every angle - and that kind of look only works when the installation is clean and precise. That's what we were going for here.

The siding is vertical board and batten in a deep charcoal tone, and it completely changes the character of the house. It has that modern farmhouse feel that works really well on a lakefront property. Pair it with crisp white trim around the windows and along the roofline, and you get a finished look that's hard to ignore.

We also ran 6-inch gutters around the home. A lot of people don't think much about gutters until there's a problem - but the truth is, the right gutter system does two things at once. It moves water away from the foundation efficiently, and when it's installed well, it actually sharpens up the overall look of the roofline. Bigger gutters handle higher water volume, which matters a lot on a home this size with that much roof surface.

What we love about jobs like this is how everything works together. The siding installation, the gutters, the white corner trim - none of it is an afterthought. Each piece has to line up and transition cleanly, especially on a home with multiple rooflines and angles like this one. That's where the craftsmanship really shows.

Getting the exterior right on a lakefront home isn't just about looks - it's about protecting a serious investment. Dark siding, clean white gutters, and tight trim work all hold up better long-term when the install is done right from the start. That's exactly what we focused on here.
